Emma Peel

Background

Emma Peel was the daughter of industrialist, Sir John Knight. He died when when she was twenty-one and Emma took control of Knight Industries. She later married a test pilot, Peter Peel, but his plane crashed, leaving him presumably dead.

Mrs. Peel began working for the government as a spy and was partnered with the John Steed. Their partnership was highly successful as Peel's expertise in martial arts and 152 IQ came in handy on many varied missions.

Her relationship with Mr. Peel often came close to romance as they repeatedly saved each others' lives. Their partnership ended though when Mrs. Peel's husband was found to be alive. She left Steed with a kiss on the cheek and left the Ministry with her husband.

Mrs. Peel showed girls around the world that they could be heroic and active, not simply damsels in distress. She was a successful, confident, and ambitious woman.
