Tintin

Origin: Created by Hergé

Heroic Values: Caring, Courage, Integrity, Perseverance, Selflessness, Tolerance

Background

Tintin, the boy reporter, was created by Georges Remi (Hergé) in 1929 for a Belgian newspaper. His first adventures were part of a comic strip, but the popularity of the strip soon led to Hergé creating longer stories in book form.

Tintin's job as a reporter led him into many dangerous situations in many dangerous locations. He travelled the world with his dog, Snowy, always ready to help those in need and deter those who needed to be.

He was characterized by his willingness to sacrifice himself for the greater good, his dogged persistence in ensuring wrongs were righted, and his unfailing courage.
