Zuko

The Mundane World

Zuko is a Fire Nation prince. He has a semi-happy life and has a hard and determined personality.

The Call To Adventure

Zuko is banished by his father, the Fire Lord. The only way to return to the Fire Nation with his honor intact is to find the Avatar. This will be a daunting task as no one has seen that Avatar in a hundred years.

Crossing The Threshold

When Zuko and his Uncle Iroh are at the South Pole, they see a giant beam of light. He suspects this is a sign that the Avatar is close by.

The Path of Trials

Zuko’s first goal is to find the Avatar. He manages to capture him, but Aang gets away every time. During his journey, Zuko is conflicted. He starts to question why he wants his honor back so badly. He even saves Aang in disguise so he isn’t captured by his rival, Admiral Zhou.

At one point, he is given a choice between helping the Avatar and his Uncle or helping his sister Azula to capture both, and he chooses poorly and helps his sister. He lives with regret of this decision because his Uncle’s imprisonment.

Master of Two Worlds

When Zuko finally does some soul searching, he realizes that his destiny is to help the Avatar, not hurt him. He confronts his father and tells him that he will be joining the Avatar from now on. Zuko finally realizes all the lessons his Uncle (who has been more of a father to him than the Fire Lord) has taught him and begins a path to redemption.
